About Industry Night Zurich
On Friday 12 March 2027, Industry Night Zurich will take place for the first time. From 5 pm to midnight, various companies in the city of Zurich and neighbouring municipalities will open their doors and offer exclusive insights into their day-to-day work. Visitors will experience first-hand how technologies are developed, products are manufactured and the foundations for our everyday lives are laid. The participating companies will be announced in autumn 2026.
Guided tours, workshops, dialogs: The Industry Night
The Industry Night provides a setting for interaction between business and the public. For seven hours, a variety of companies invite visitors to explore their premises, offering fascinating guided tours of places that are usually off-limits, hands-on workshops and the chance to chat with staff.
A network of shuttle buses connects all participating companies. Visitors can therefore plan their exploration tour in advance or choose their next destination spontaneously in the evening – just like during Zurich’s Long Night of Museums. The ticket costs CHF 10 and entitles the holder to entry to all companies, as well as use of the shuttle buses and public transport within the city. School pupils, apprentices and students are entitled to a free ticket. For young people, the Industry Night is the ideal opportunity to experience the regional job market in a relaxed way and discover their own interests.
The Industry Night has already been successfully held in other cities such as Basel, where it has become an established event with growing popularity: 8,500 visitors and 20,000 entries in 2022, and over 20,000 visitors and 55,000 entries in 2026. Now the event is coming to Zurich with the aim of showcasing the economic diversity of Switzerland’s largest city.
Industry at the heart of Switzerland’s largest city
Zurich is far more than just Switzerland’s financial centre. The region is a major hub for manufacturing and technology. In District 5, large high-tech compressors are being built for international energy projects; not far from there, the world’s tallest granary towers into the sky. At Technopark, start-ups work side by side on the digital and technological solutions of tomorrow.
Towards Altstetten and Wiedikon lies a vast array of locally based manufacturers and companies that are indispensable to the functioning of our infrastructure and the flow of goods and energy. Meanwhile, the switchgear used by the national grid operators almost certainly comes from a factory in Oerlikon. At the Industry Night, visitors can explore this side of Zurich that remains hidden in everyday life: the public can tour production halls and warehouses, experience machinery and technologies at first hand, speak to experts and learn about different careers.
Whether young or old, in training or looking for a job, interested, curious or critical – the Industry Night provides a space for people to meet and promises a fresh perspective on Zurich. A major event such as the Industry Night Zurich would not be possible without strong partnerships. Swissmem’s ‘tecindustry’ brand, the Zurich Chamber of Commerce and Everllence Switzerland are supporting the Industrienacht Zurich initiative.
